Mission

Our Mission

Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer is a local non-profit organization serving those diagnosed with cancer in the City of Danville and Pittsylvania County. We are not affiliated with the American Cancer Society; therefore, all donations received are used to support our mission of providing cancer-related prescriptions, travel reimbursement, and medical supplies/equipment in our community. DPC is funded by grants awarded by The Community Foundation of the Dan River Region, Danville Regional Foundation, J.T. Minnie Maude Charitable Trust, Centra, and the United Way of Danville and Pittsylvania County - Get Healthy Dan River program, as well as individual donors, churches, and businesses. We not only offer financial assistance, but offer support groups, including COPING and Throw Paint at Cancer, which is open to survivors, caregivers, and those actively receiving treatment. Our overall mission is to Unravel the Effects of Cancer. Our vision and goal for the future is to continue to provide quality services for local cancer patients, helping them to live a better quality of life.
